Bleach creator Tite Kubo wants to see a remake of the anime
Bleach was once one of the biggest anime and manga in history, alongside Naruto and One Piece, but its story ended. And now its creator wants a remake.
‘Bleach’ is considered one of the most important shonen manga in history, the work of Tite Kubo stood out enormously in the first decade of the 2000s and part of the second, becoming, along with ‘Naruto’ and ‘One Piece’, one of the biggest phenomena that Shonen Jump had ever published. Its adaptation to anime made it an international phenomenon, especially at a time when subtitled anime was beginning to be a trend and a regular hobby for many people, and its current moment is notable, with the anime adaptation of the final part that was still missing finally animated with amazing quality.
Could the original series be adapted again in the form of a remake? In his personal blog, Kubo responded to questions from fans, and when it came to talking about the original series he made it clear that he would “like to see” a remake happen, highlighting that he’d prefer a remake of ‘Bleach’ that “faithfully follows the original work.”
‘Bleach’ and the dream of a remake after its unexpected return
Tite Kubo’s words may seem somewhat improbable, and when we talk about ‘Bleach’, we are talking about what is considered one of the big three along with ‘Naruto’ and ‘One Piece’, given that they all shared the spotlight at the time of their publication both in Shonen Jump and in its animated adaptations. A golden era that could perhaps return with the long-awaited remakes of ‘Naruto’ and ‘One Piece’, will there be a ‘Bleach’ one? The problem with the series is its duration, which is enormously long, but given the success of ‘Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War’ and its different parts, it should not be ruled out that the original series could return in the best possible conditions and with an animation to match.
