Bloober Team confirms development of Silent Hill 1 Remake

The studio responsible for Silent Hill 2 Remake is working on reimagining the title that started it all.

Update:

Silent Hill couldn’t be in a better place right now. The last four years have served to bring this franchise back, and after the success of Silent Hill 2 Remake and the surprise Silent Hill f, it’s time for Konami to continue capitalizing on the momentum of the survival horror franchise. And although it came a little out of the blue, the next step in the franchise has been revealed.

During a meeting with investors, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno and Vice President Karolina Nowak revealed that the studio is already developing Silent Hill 1 Remake, along with another title that has yet to be announced. “We have two first-party production teams, one of which is working on Silent Hill 1, and the other has begun work on a second project.”

Silent Hill 1 Remake still a long way off

For now, no further details have been released about this upcoming title. It is expected that the team that worked on Silent Hill 2 Remake will be the same team working on this title. Although the initial videos of the remake focused on James Sunderland did not look promising, the game managed to become a title that received good reviews and proved its quality to die-hard fans.

Following the release of Silent Hill 2 Remake, Bloober Team worked on a new IP called Cronos: The New Dawn, another horror title with retro-futuristic touches and psychological horror elements, inspired by 1980s Poland. Regarding this title, Bloober Team mentioned that “At the moment, apart from marketing updates, the company is not actively working on development (neither a sequel nor DLC), but we do not rule it out in the future and we are definitely thinking about developing this IP.”
