Brandon Sanderson has good news about the ‘Mistborn’ movie: “I’m feeling really good”
The creator of the Cosmere is thrilled with the script for the first big-screen adaptation of one of his works.
Over the past few months, Brandon Sanderson has been taking a short break from his upcoming novels to work on one of the most exciting projects of his entire life. For the past few months, the author of the Cosmere has been writing the screenplay for the first ‘Mistborn’ movie, and today he shared some great news with his fans.
In a new video shared on his YouTube channel, Sanderson revealed that the first draft of the screenplay is already 50% complete, meaning he has already written half of the feature film. The writer also mentioned that he recently met with people from Apple TV to get feedback on what they expect from his script (which they haven’t read yet), and he couldn’t have left there more excited. “I’m feeling really good about how this is going,” the author said with a big smile on his face.
The script for the ‘Mistborn’ movie will be ready in July
Brandon Sanderson has even more reason to be excited about how his new major project is coming along. He had originally planned to finish the script for the ‘Mistborn’ movie by next July, so it’s actually coming along faster than he had anticipated, which is a great sign. Furthermore, it’s worth noting that, thanks to his landmark deal with Apple, he has complete creative control over all his adaptations, which could potentially speed up the film’s pre-production.

So, does this mean the next Cosmere books will take longer to come out? Well, the author has already made it clear that, at the very least, it won’t affect ‘Mistborn’ and ‘The Stormlight Archive’, his two most important series.
