Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere tabletop RPG is now Kickstarter´s second fastest-funded project

After creating one of the most expansive fantasy multiverses in the history of fiction, Brandon Sanderson is venturing into the RPG industry with a hugely successful Kickstarter.

Brandon Sanderson is one of those figures who, despite the enormous fame and prestige he currently enjoys, is on the verge of becoming something massive worldwide. His literary work is beyond any doubt, and the moment television and big screen adaptations arrive, there will be no turning back, and a new example of them is the upcoming Tabletop Roleplaying Game (TTRPG) based on his universe, the Cosmere.

The Cosmere Roleplaying Game is an RPG system that will begin with content from ‘The Stormlight Archive’, one of the author’s most successful sagas, and it has begun by launching the project on Kickstarter, surpassing the established figure in record time and becoming the most successful crowdfunding campaign in the history of the platform for a board game.

Brandon Sanderson and the enormous impact of this new RPG

The figures achieved so far by Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere RPG are shocking, and the total goal was $250,000, a number that it shattered on its first day, managing to raise more than five million dollars. Until now, the record figure on the platform for a board game was $1,150,566, which was achieved by Avatar Legends on its opening day.

Currently, only one board game has raised more in history, the aforementioned Avatar Legends which achieved $9,535,317, an impactful figure that Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere could reach. Currently, it has already raised over 5 million dollars, thus surpassing what until now was the second board game that has raised the most in crowdfunding, Gloomhaven Grand Festival.

Starting with ‘The Stormlight Archive’ and with a future expansion based around ‘Mistborn’, Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere aims to cover the huge universe created by the American author. It will be possible to try the game for free thanks to the document and the introductory adventure found on its Kickstarter.
