Tekken 8 is just around the corner, and Bandai Namco has decided to release a rather strange promotional video. The Japanese company has released a video in which Brian Cox, the infamous Logan Roy from ‘Succession’, narrates in detail the history of the Tekken saga before the last game to refresh the memory of players.

Brian Cox, the infamous Logan Roy from ‘Succession’, tells the story of the Tekken saga in a promotional video

Bandai Namco has released a Tekken 8 video starring Brian Cox on its various social media and official channels, which consists of a summary of the history of the games so far. In addition to Cox’s narration - and his imposing presence, all things considered - short clips from the games are also included in the montage.

The video is quite aware of how comical some situations are, and Cox himself emphasizes this in his narration, such as when he wonders “why do these fathers and sons keep throwing each other off cliffs?,” which is what happened in the canon endings of Tekken, Tekken 2, and Tekken 7.

Cox’s choice for this video was as unexpected as it was appropriate, since one of his most emblematic and recent roles was that of Logan Roy in ‘Succession,’ a series that has garnered 75 nominations and 13 Emmy Awards and four Golden Globes in the most recent edition of the gala. In this series, Logan is the tyrannical patriarch of the Roy family, where backstabbing and betrayal are the order of the day, just as they are in the Mishima family with Heihachi at the helm, so the parallel is more than obvious.
