Bruce Willis’ situation worsens: “He’s not totally verbal”
A tragic end for a great Hollywood legend.
Bruce Willis, one of the most beloved and recognized actors of recent decades, announced in 2022 that he suffers from aphasia, a disease that affects the ability to express and communicate. Glenn Gordon Caron, producer of the “Moonlighting” series that made Bruce Willis a star, told the New York Post, “He’s not totally verbal; he used to be a voracious reader - he didn’t want anyone to know that - and he’s not reading now. All those language skills are no longer available to him, and yet he’s still Bruce.”
A tragic moment for the actor and his family, in which Gordon Caron points out that “I have tried very hard to stay in his life. He’s an extraordinary person. The thing that makes [his disease] so mind-blowing is [that] if you’ve ever spent time with Bruce Willis, there is no one who had any more joie de vivre than he. He loved life and… just adored waking up every morning and trying to live life to its fullest.” In addition, he adds that “so the idea that he now sees life through a screen door, if you will, makes very little sense. He’s really an amazing guy.”
Bruce Willis, a legendary actor
Born in Germany, this American actor began his career in television in the 80s but soon made the leap to the big screen, where he excelled in all kinds of roles: comedy, drama, action... Among all his roles, the one that stands out is that of Officer John McClane in ‘Die Hard’, but Bruce Willis is much more than that, having starred in more than 70 films, including ‘The Sixth Sense’, ‘Twelve Monkeys’ and ‘Pulp Fiction’.
After announcing his illness, two more movies that Bruce Willis had already shot have been trained. They are Paradise City alongside John Travolta in November 2022 and, more recently, Detective Knight: Independence last January 2023.
