Cailee Spaeny is reportedly in talks for a role in Elden Ring film adaptation

From Civil War to The Lands Between.

Update:

The Elden Ring live-action film was officially announced in May, with Alex Garland, known for his directorial work on Ex Machina and Warfare, at the helm. And while information has been scarce about the upcoming adaptation, new information has appeared. Sources indicate that Cailee Spaeny, known for her roles in Civil War and Alien: Romulus, is reportedly in discussions to join the cast of the upcoming Elden Ring live-action film.

The news comes from industry insider Jeff Sneider, who suggests Spaeny’s involvement in the ambitious project. Her recent work includes a lead role in Sofia Coppola’s 2023 biopic Priscilla, where she portrayed Priscilla Presley, earning critical praise. Last year, she also starred as Rain Carradine in Alien: Romulus, a role whose voice and likeness were later featured in the video game Dead by Daylight as a purchasable skin for Ellen Ripley. Her consistent work with renowned directors and her experience in both dramatic and genre films make her a compelling choice for a major role in the Elden Ring adaptation.

While specific plot details for the Elden Ring film remain under wraps, speculation has already begun regarding which character Cailee Spaeny might portray. A prominent candidate is Melina, the enigmatic maiden who guides the Tarnished protagonist throughout their journey in the game. Her crucial role in the player’s progression makes her a strong contender for a significant cinematic presence.

Other potential characters for Spaeny include Ranni the Witch, a fan-favorite figure pivotal to one of the game’s major endings, or even a female Tarnshied, providing a fresh perspective on the game’s customizable protagonist.
