Call of Duty 2025 will be a semi-futuristic sequel to Black Ops 2: First Details
Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming claims that several sources have confirmed to him that Saturn (codename) has been in development for 22 months.
Activision Blizzard prepares the future of its star franchise well in advance. This is nothing new in the company led - still - by Bobby Kotick. Sledgehammer Games has been accused of designing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in a short time, although they usually spend years developing new releases. According to Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming, he has heard from several sources that the 2025 game will be a sequel to Black Ops 2.
Known under the codename Saturn, the title will take us to a not too distant future, since according to Insider Gaming it will be set a few years after the second installment, way back in 2030. It is therefore expected that some of the most popular protagonists will return, although no details have yet been released.
Henderson assures that the remastered Black Ops 2 maps will come to the game, but the plans and scope of the project have changed, as the original idea was to release them at launch, while now they will be distributed alongside new ones. In any case, the development is still in an early stage and has not even started for two years (approximately 22 months), so there could be changes.
What will Call of Duty look like in 2024?

It has not been officially announced yet, but several media and sources have agreed that the next Call of Duty will be called Black Ops: Gulf War, so players will participate in a war from the past, the Gulf War. This is the armed conflict that took place in the 1990s and pitted the United States, the United Kingdom, and 34 other UN nations against Saddam Hussein’s Iraq.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC. Critics have been unanimous in calling the campaign one of the weakest in recent years.
