Activision
‘Call of Duty’ and ‘Squid Game’ will have the most unexpected collaboration
Green light, red light...
Over the past few years, video games have seen their fair share of collaborations, each one a little stranger than the last. 'Call of Duty', being one of the most popular titles in recent years, has not been left behind, with collaborations ranging from the interesting to the truly unexpected, from the WWE, TV series like The Boys, all sorts of celebrities, and even Gundam. But this time, a new collaboration has been announced, and it couldn’t come at a better time.
Through a publication in their social media, the Call of Duty account has announced a collaboration with ‘Squid Game’, the Netflix series that will premiere its season 2 later this month, on December 26. The video is a short teaser of less than 1 minute where we see one of the operators of the game raise the familiar card with the symbols of such a bloody game. For now, it has not been mentioned what will be in store, just the release window for January 2025, but considering the previous collaborations, we will surely have skins and themed weapons from this series. You can check out the teaser below:
The future of Call of Duty collaborations
In recent weeks, leaks have indicated that the next Call of Duty collaborations will happen thanks to the purchase of Activision by Microsoft, thus being able to mix universes that we could never have imagined. Among these collaborations, 'Call of Duty: Black Ops 6' could receive the representation of iconic Microsoft titles such as Halo and Gears of War, as well as Doom, part of the portfolio acquired by the company with the purchase of Bethesda.
For now, this information is unconfirmed, but it gives us a broad overview of what could be coming next in Call of Duty.
