Call of Duty Black Ops 6 on Xbox Game Pass has a trick: Here's what's included depending on your subscription
The game, developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, will be available on the service the same day it launches.
The purchase of Activision Blizzard was one of the most significant news stories in the video game industry in the last decade. Microsoft took ownership of the Call of Duty franchise, one of the reasons why the legal battle was so controversial and acrimonious. With the deal done, everyone wondered if the next installment would be coming to Xbox Game Pass. Redmond recently revealed its plans, confirming that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on the service from day one. And here come the nuances: depending on the subscription, players will be able to access more or less content.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: What every Game Pass subscription includes
- Game Pass Core: The most basic Game Pass subscription includes access to online play on the console, but does not allow you to enjoy any Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 modes. Those who purchase the game will have the opportunity to enjoy all modes.
- Game Pass for Console: You can play the full campaign on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. However, the multiplayer modes (online and zombies) are not included because you need access to multiplayer on the console. To get it, you must also subscribe to Game Pass Core or upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate.
- Game Pass for PC: Since online access is free on PC, this subscription allows players to play the campaign, multiplayer, and online modes without any restrictions. However, players will be able to download the Standard Edition without the benefits and additional content of the more premium editions.
- Game Pass Ultimate: Includes the campaign and multiplayer modes that can be played on both PC and all Xbox consoles (Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S). This is the same as the standard edition, but includes the digital multiplayer bundle on Xbox.
Pre-release subscribers to Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass for Console, and Game Pass for PC will also receive the Woods Operator Pack and early access to the Open Beta.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released on October 25th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Game Pass, PS4, PS5 and PC. MeriStation has already been able to test it and these are our first impressions of the game.
