Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s new movement system, Omnimovement, will not be optional for any game mode

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will introduce a massive new feature that is set to be present in all game modes. It is, so to speak, the core mechanics of this installment, a system that allows the player to carry out a series of chained and fluid actions: sprint, slide, and launch in any direction, all at a 360-degree angle, hence its name: “Omnimovement”. The question that many have asked is whether it will be possible to disable it or not, but Treyarch has made it clear that the answer is negative. The explanation? The title has been developed from the ground up with that mechanic in mind.

Can you toggle Omnimovment on and off? The answer is no,” stated Stephanie Snowden, senior director of studio communications for Call of Duty, during Episoe 1 of the official Call of Duty Podcast. “Omnimovement is a core, foundational mechanic of the game, you cannot turn it off. But I think where people maybe got that impression was we have another new feature called Intelligent Movement.”

Intelligent movement is a different feature that allows players to streamline their controls, reducing the number of button commands you have to do with your controller to perform certain actions, such as making sprinting automatic, vaulting over obstacles, and more. This is simply an accessibility feature that is meant to allow players to play as they want to play, which means that it’s completely optional and can be turned off.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will go on sale next October 25 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Game Pass (some subscriptions), PS4, PS5 and PC. It has already been confirmed what the dates of the multiplayer open beta will be
