Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 faces a cheater problem in beta despite new protections
PC security requirements don’t halt wall hacks and aim bots in the early access period.
The beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 began a few hours ago, and one of the most anticipated titles of the year has welcomed thousands of players who are ready to return to the shooter. However, to the surprise of many, several cheaters have also entered the game, considering that several anti-cheat measures had been announced for this game.
This is the case for PC players, who need TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot to run Black Ops 7 Beta. According to the official blog, these tools, together with the Ricochet system, combine to offer “the strongest possible protection,” in order to “create a tougher environment for cheats to operate in and ensures that the protections these features detect cannot be bypassed or spoofed.” However, after hours of beta testing, some players were already cheating with aim bots and wall hacks, taking away the fun of the game, as shown in the following video:
How effective is the anti-cheat system in Black Ops 7?
One detail worth mentioning is that, despite the requirements set by Activision and Treyarch for playing on PC, the famous Ricochet Anti-Cheat system is not included in this version. We simply haven’t seen how this system works yet, so we’ll have to wait a little longer. Given this, we will also have to wait and see how the classic back-and-forth that exists with these systems evolves, where the cheaters themselves develop solutions until some new type of update arrives that manages to ban the cheaters from the game. So if you’re playing the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta on PC, keep in mind that these elements will be present, or simply make sure to play on console and turn off crossplay, where there aren’t as many cheaters.
For now, we will have to wait and see if the final version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 can solve these problems before its release on November 14.
