Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3′s killstreak cruise missiles not working, users report
The only killstreak in Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer Ranked Play is no longer working properly, detonating prematurely and annoying users.
This weekend could be complicated for competitive Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 players, as it has been reported that the only killstreak available in Ranked Play, the Cruise Missiles, is having problems.
In the February 21st update, the developers of Modern Warfare 3 addressed an issue with the Cruise Missiles in Ranked Play, mentioning that they fixed an error where this could explode in mid-air if the player controlling them was killed. However, this update seems to have done more harm than good.
So, what exactly is hindering the functionality of Cruise Missiles in Modern Warfare 3? Typically, upon deployment, players should have full control over the speed and trajectory of the missile. While manipulation of speed remains feasible, a glitch now impedes players from guiding the killstreak to their desired target destination. Undoubtedly a disappointment for players of this game mode.
For now, Treyarch Studios has not commented on social media about this problem, and some users have already reacted to the update made yesterday by the studio on Twitter/X.
The severity of this problem lies in the fact that, as the only killstreak allowed in Ranked Mode, there is no reward for players who manage to make their 6 kills in a row. For now, players will have to wait for a solution from the studio.
CoD Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 and Warzone already deployed
Earlier this month, Call of Duty players received Season 2 within the multiplayer modes with new Ranked Play rewards, as well as new content that will arrive over the next few weeks (You can take a look at what’s coming this season here). With new maps, game modes, and characters from other universes such as Rick Grimes and Michonne from The Walking Dead, Call of Duty Season 2 arrived with plenty of content to keep fans hooked.
