Call of Duty Warzone community up in arms for the arrival of animal skins in Black Ops 6
Call of Duty Warzone players are not happy with the most recent batch of skins that have made their way to the game through Black Ops 6.
A good part of the Call of Duty community longs for the return of its semi-realistic militarized theme. During the first few weeks of the game being live, everything in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone has remained constant, with operators and skins sticking to its ‘90s vibe and a heavy emphasis on urban fighters. However, as the first season of content for the games arrives, it seems the developers have chosen to go the complete opposite way, and now some players are extremely annoyed at the fact that anthropomorphic animals are running around in their matches.
What is the community saying about animal skins in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone?
“I wanted something that really fit the 90s and Gulf War theme,” explains one user on Reddit. Another, however, responds to those who defend the movement: “There are arguments for maintaining a sustained visual style, especially when they are making these games from specific contexts that have different aesthetics. “Why set it in the ‘90s if you’re just going to turn into a shark?” The operator packages include these skins after payment of COD Points.
Those who defend it apply a little common sense. If this is the toll to have maps, weapons, and the rest of the new features of each season at no additional cost, so be it. But the truth is that along the way it has lost some identity. Now the saga, especially Warzone, has become the crossover universe of crossover universes in which anything goes as long as it offers more content. It follows the line of Fortnite a bit, but in this case it does make more sense: it is part of the brand’s identity.
You don’t have to go to the animals to see extravagant collaborations. Messi and Neymar were two of the soccer players to have their own skin released. We have also seen Fallout, and what is to come follows the same path: Halo, Doom, and Gears of War These are some of the licenses that have been leaked.
