CES 2024: LG focuses on changes in artificial intelligence for their new products
During CES 2024, LG presented its projects that will integrate artificial intelligence with a focus on user experience.
LG is one of the first to show its cards at CES 2024. Starting with a paradigm shift where it reaffirms the change it made last year from being a consumer electronics company to now being a company focused on smart living solutions.
A different AI
One of the first details of the presentation is LG’s recognition of the historical point at which we find ourselves with the use of artificial intelligence. For the company, the quest is for AI to be able to create tangible benefits. To that end, they are seeking to redefine AI as Affectionate Intelligence, to apply this change to improve the consumer experience.
A decentralized smart home
One of LG’s first applications of this change is in the home. The company presented a change of perspective with its LG ThinQ product line, where AI delivers optimization of services and products to the end user. Starting with the purchase process, the user feeds the AI to generate purchase and usage recommendations as part of LG ThinQ Up 2.0.
Part of the change for LG is also in the security of user data, which is why the company’s smart products will require a new Smart Home Hub, a device with AI on-device where all smart devices are connected and the data collected from their use is always kept at home, preventing data breaches.
Smart Home AI Agent
LG also presented a small robot that will accompany us at home. It will be able to recognize commands and provide information and reminders to users at home. If necessary, it can even make emergency calls and be aware of different situations in the home.
Televisions and webOS
In terms of televisions, LG began with the presentation of its Alpha 11 processor, which has 4 times the performance of the past and with which it will continue to bring more features to its devices. At the same time, the company celebrated the 10th anniversary of webOS, the operating system of its televisions, with which it manages to bring web content to its devices. After that, LG promised that all devices from this year will have 5 years of webOS updates, as well as the arrival of Chromecast.
However, the real surprise was the LG Signature OLED T, a wireless 4K OLED TV that seeks to become a design object for the space of our homes, thanks to its screen that can become transparent.
Software Defined Vehicle
Finally, LG presented its vision for the automotive industry, which aims to transform the driving experience into a living space on wheels. This is also based on AI that recognizes the user and enables a more comfortable and assisted driving experience. From streaming video with Netflix and YouTube in the car to video games in the back of the car for children, among others.
