Christian Bale is unrecognizable as Frankenstein’s Monster in ‘The Bride’

The new remake of ‘The Bride of Frankenstein’ (1935) is releasing in 2025, with Maggie Gyllenhaal, Christian Bale, and Jessie Buckley.

Is the story of Frankenstein the most repeated in the world of cinema? A few days ago it was on the billboard thanks to ‘Poor Creatures’, which is the most modern and feminist version of the story to date, and today the first images of its next adaptation are presented. This is ‘The Bride’, a movie about the bride of Frankenstein that will put Christian Bale in the skin of the monster.

The film will be directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, who many remember for his role as Rachel Dawes in ‘The Dark Knight’ and for the performance that was worth an Oscar nomination in ‘Crazy Heart’. The actress began her career as a director a few years ago with ‘The Lost Daughter’, a film nominated for the Golden Lion in Venice and the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.

With the plot being about the bride of Frankenstein, one of the most important roles will be that of the bride herself, played by Jessie Buckley, who previously starred in ‘Men’, Alex Garland’s entry into the horror genre, who has since become the director of the upcoming ‘Civil War’.

The film will be a remake of ‘Bride of Frankenstein’ (from 1935) and is scheduled for 2025. The publication of these images may preview an imminent trailer, but for now, all we know is that it will be set in Chicago in the 1930s., a time in which the brilliant scientist asks Dr. Euphronius for help to make a companion for his previous creation. Between both they will give life to a murdered woman and they will unleash a romance that will capture the interest of the police and entail a radical social change.
