Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 receives major update 1.4.0, introducing highly requested battle retry
Sandfall Interactive’s latest patch delivers significant quality-of-life enhancements.
Players of the acclaimed RPG Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 will be able to play the game more easily. Sanfall Interactive has released update 1.4.0, which brings with it a number of community-requested improvements. From the much-requested Battle Retry option to a handful of quality-of-life features, bug fixes, and visual improvements, further enhancing the game experience.
Improvements in the player experience
The feature that stands out the most in the 1.4.0 update is Battle Retry. With this, players who find themselves in difficult battles in Clair Obscur will be able to retry again, just as Metaphor: Refantazio allowed us to do last year. Here we will have a pop-up window that will allow us to jump directly into battle, without having to retrace everything from our last save point, speeding up the navigation process and avoiding having to face the same enemies again. This option will help players to improve their strategy, being one of the most requested features from players since its launch in April.
Along with this, the update also comes with quality-of-life improvements within the game menus. The Pictos menu now clearly displays the Lumina cost for abilities, providing players with better planning tools for their strategies. Dialogue sequences outside of cutscenes can now be set to autoplay. For those seeking greater audio customization, separate volume sliders are now available for exploration and combat, allowing players to fine-tune their listening environment.
Finally, the visual side is not neglected for PC players. Players will be able to experience smoother gameplay thanks to reduced input lag on compatible systems. The development team also made adjustments to eliminate certain bugs and give the game a visual polish. In addition, Frame Generation and Low Latency support was added for compatible Nvidia and Intel GPUs. While FSR support is still being explored, Sandfall Interactive has assured players that more updates are planned for the future, demonstrating their commitment to ongoing post-launch support for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
