CoD Modern Warfare 3 unveils the new maps and upgrades coming with Season 1
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will begin its post-launch life with a whole array of new content making its way to the game as the Seasons come and go.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will begin Season 1 with a round of original content. Although the multiplayer is established around the maps of the original installment of Modern Warfare 2, Sledgehammer Games has prepared stages dedicated to this third installment of the reboot. These contents, as is usual in the franchise in recent years, will arrive at no additional cost. This first wave of content is scheduled to launch sometime at the beginning of December on PS5, PS4, Xbox, and PC.
Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 reveals part of its contents
Activision reveals that the multiplayer will receive 3 new maps dedicated to the 6vs6 modes.Meat and Greece will be available from day one, while Rio will come as part of the mid-season reinforcements. Specifically, the latter follows the visual line of Favelas, one of the maps already included in the game and which focuses on close-range combat.
The publisher stated that this content framework will bring back the Gunfight game mode to the front line. Debuting in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), this 2vs2 takes place in very narrow maps to condense the action into several rounds to a single life. If you haven’t played it, it will remind you of the gulag of the two Call of Duty: Warzone installments.
Zombies, on the other hand, will continue its story arc with the appearance of a portal in the middle of the Exclusion Zone. In the dedicated entry on the Call of Duty blog They explain that inside “Inside Dark Aether Rifts, Operators will encounter a sinister and chaotic challenge, with limited time on the clock to complete objectives and escape with their lives (and sanity)”. They emphasize that it is content dedicated to the endgame, that is, to all those who have completed the three narrative acts of the base game. We will also see the arrival of another Wonder Weapon, the V-R11, which transforms any enemy into an ally.
These contents are a preview of everything that is to come in Season 1. We still do not know, for example, what weapons will be added to the arsenal. Also on the horizon is the big Warzone update, with the new map dedicated to Urzikstan.
