Concord, a new multiplayer competitive hero shooter by Sony and Firewalk, has been revealed

Sony has finally revealed what their upcoming space game, Concord, really is: a 5v5 online shooter with a big emphasis on narratives

It may have missed the February State of Play, but Concord has finally been revealed in today’s event. The new multiplayer shooter for PS5 and PC with which Sony will seek to emulate the unprecedented success of Helldivers 2 is a game that will also serve as a presentation card for Firewalk Studios, the developer purchased by PlayStation just a year ago.

With the support of the entire first party publisher behind it, Firewalk surprises with an FPS set in space (with strongly inspirations by ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’) that, even though focused on the competitive, will have a great narrative load. Two Concord trailers have been shown, one a story cinematic that presents us to the world, and the other full of gameplay. Here you have the first one:

At a gameplay level, Concord will be a first-person shooter where we will fight competitive 5v5 online games with a large number of radically different heroes thanks to the diversity of powers and technological objects. Firewalk promises that it will be “tight and well balanced” and has even been inspired by the fighting and strategy genre to take great care of mobility and gunplay.

There will be a Concord beta in July and the final version will be released on PS5 and PC on August 23, 2024. The studio has promised that each week they will welcome you with a new cinematic that allows you to see the characters outside of combat to delve deeper into their story and advance the plot.
