Confirmed: the new season of Fortnite will be Marvel’s with Doctor Doom as the main villain
Fortnite Season 4 Chapter 5 will be Marvel-themed and we will have to face the evil Doctor Doom. This has been revealed by the video game itself through a decrypted file ahead of its end-of-season event.
Fortnite is teasing insider information about its new season, even before the final event of the current season takes place. Among the decrypted files ahead of this in-game event shows an icon of Doctor Doom that leaves no room for error: the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 will be Marvel-themed and we will face Doctor Doom as the main threat to beat.
Marvel theme of Fortnite’s new season confirmed thanks to key filing
In preparation for the final event of Fortnite Season 3 Chapter 5, Epic Games has decided to decrypt several files from the game’s file system in preparation for the event. At approximately 11:00 AM ET on Saturday, August 10, 2024, about three hours before the event begins, one of these new files, visible through data mining tools and techniques, confirms what was already known from the game’s roadmap for the rest of the year: the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 will be Marvel-centric, with Doctor Doom as the main villain.
The file in question that proves this is an icon that is unmistakably Doctor Doom, the monarch of Latveria in the Marvel stories and the main enemy of the Fantastic 4.
This logo was seen during the live event. Doom has foiled Megalo Don’s plan to bring Pandora’s Box back into Fortnite to gain his infinite power.
It is unmistakable; the flag of Latveria, the fictional Eastern European country from which Doctor Doom hails, has a very similar design:
That wasn’t the only hint we’ve had recently about the next season being Marvel-centric: for one thing, in one of Magneto’s missions, we had to place communication beacons that look like Iron Man technology. On the other hand, the recent arrival of new Marvel outfits (X-Men’s Cyclops, Colossus and Jubilee) in the game has also been an important clue to what is coming in just a few days.
