Despite having only just released on April 1st, two days ago, ‘Content Warning’ has already taken the internet by storm. A Co-Op horror game developed by Landfall Games that is all about getting into spooky situations with your friends, recording horrifying things, and uploading it onto the internet to make some quick money, it’s no surprise it’s already at the top of the lists on Steam.
And of course, as with any viral game that’s been released in the past few years, the community has already released a host of mods meant to alter the way you can play the game. With such a massive player base, it was bound to happen, but it’s still a surprisingly quick turnaround for the modding community. As such you may be wondering how to install these mods, and your best choice so far has to be the Thunderstore mod manager.
What is the Thunderstore mod manager, and how to install it?
Thunderstore is a mod manager platform for various PC games. It’s a centralized repository of where users can find, download, and install mods for their favorite games. The platform supports a wide range of games, including popular titles like Minecraft, Risk of Rain 2, Valheim, and now of course, Content Warning.
This tool provides an easy-to-use interface for discovering and managing mods. Users can search for mods by game title, category, or popularity, making it convenient to find the mods they’re interested in. Additionally, Thunderstore offers features like automatic updates for installed mods, version control, and dependency management, simplifying the modding experience for players.
Updating (or installing) Thunderstore is quite a simple process. Below you’ll find a step-by-step guide on how to do so:
- Open your web browser
- Go to the Thunderstore website: In the address bar of your web browser, type in “https://thunderstore.io/”
- Navigate to the “Download” page: look for a button that says “Download” or “Get Thunderstore”. This is usually located in the navigation menu at the top of the page
- Download the latest version
- Run the installer
- Launch Thunderstore
- Check for updates (optional): Once launched, you can check for updates to installed mods by clicking on the “Updates” tab within the application. This will show you a list of any available updates for mods that you have installed. You can then choose to update individual or all mods simultaneously
