Control 2 is called Control Resonant, it’s as crazy as you imagine, and it’s ready for 2026

Remedy has done it again: it has blown everyone’s minds with the sequel to one of its new IPs. Control Resonant is essentially Control 2, now featuring Dylan, the brother of the original game’s protagonist. Everything points to it being a soulslike game, mixing the supernatural abilities that are a hallmark of the brand. It will arrive in 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

What about the Max Payne remakes?

The unveiling of Control 2 took everyone by surprise because we thought Remedy Entertainment’s next projects would be remakes of Max Payne and Max Payne 2, which it announced it was developing with the Northlight graphics engine and under the supervision of Rockstar.

It’s normal that they’re taking their time because Sam Lake made it clear from the outset that these aren’t just simple facelifts, but a complete reinterpretation of both classics. The idea is to merge both installments into a single game with a more cohesive and deeper narrative, as well as a setting that takes advantage of the power of PS5 and Xbox Series.

What we hope will remain is the original noir spirit with a revamped bullet time that lives up to expectations. With today’s technology, imagine what those slow-motion shootouts could be like. It’s enough to make you rub your hands with glee. The same goes for Alan Wake 2’s dark and raw storyline, with dialogues that many of us have memorized.
