Update:

Renovating a home is a major undertaking that takes a long time, and the last thing anyone expects is to find something so surprising that they end up sharing it online and making it go viral. That was the case for a couple who bought a house with the intention of renovating it and found a collection of Game Boy Advance games under the bed, along with other retro treasures scattered throughout the rest of the house.

An unexpected surprise with video games taking center stage. After purchasing the house and taking over the previous owner’s furniture with the intention of getting rid of it, something unexpected turned up during the process: a collection of Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games. Titles that weren’t complete in their boxes, but only as cartridges, yet among them were such notable names as Golden Sun, Pokémon Yellow, Metroid Fusion, and Wario Land 4, among many others.

Since these are just loose cartridges, their monetary value isn’t as high as some might imagine, but in terms of gameplay, these are titles of exceptional quality that clearly reflect the previous owner’s good taste. Along with the ones mentioned, other gems turned up, such as various Final Fantasy games, Breath of Fire, Lunar Legend, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Fire Emblem, Mega Man Zero, Mario Kart, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past & Four Swords, and The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap.

The collection didn’t end there. The next day, the couple also shared another batch of video games—this time for the PSP, GameCube, Wii, and PlayStation—along with their respective consoles, as well as true collector’s items like Super Metroid and EarthBound for the Super Nintendo. Was it an oversight? As incredible as it may seem, it wasn’t: the former owner explained that he could only take what fit in his car. Now, the couple isn’t entirely sure what to do with all these video games, so it’s possible they might end up selling them to earn some extra income to help fund the renovation work.
