Crimson Blaze, Pokémon TCG Pocket, brings new Mega Pokémon for the Holidays
The new expansion introduces Mega Charizard Y, Mega Venusaur, and Mega Blastoise, plus research-lab themed illustrations.
Just days after Apple crowned Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket as the 2025 iPhone Game of the Year, The Pokémon Company is keeping the momentum going with a major content update. This time, it has been officially announced that ‘Crimson Blaze,’ the next themed booster pack for the app, will launch globally on December 17, 2025.
The ‘Crimson Blaze’ booster pack focuses on delivering some of the franchise’s most iconic powerhouses. Players can look forward to collecting and battling with Mega-Evolved Pokémon ex, specifically Mega Charizard Y, Mega Venusaur, and Mega Blastoise. Beyond these heavy hitters, the expansion introduces a distinct visual flair to the game. The new cards will feature “research lab–themed illustrations,” offering a fresh aesthetic for collectors who appreciate the detailed art style that has made the app a global phenomenon. As always, these new additions can be acquired through opening booster packs or utilizing the app’s social Wonder Pick feature.
A Season Full of Rewards and Battles
The arrival of the new booster pack is just the beginning of a busy winter season for Trainers. The development team has outlined a comprehensive roadmap of in-app events designed to keep players engaged through the New Year.
The festivities kick off with the Holiday Campaign, running from December 24 to January 7. During this period, players can tackle specific holiday missions to earn seasonal rewards. As we head into 2026, the Mareep Drop Event (Dec. 31 – Jan. 10) will offer special solo battles where Trainers can earn “B Series Vol. 2” promo packs.

This event introduces promo cards for Heliolisk and Buneary into the rotation and includes missions to earn event shop tickets. Finally, players looking for a challenge can prepare for the Mega Latios ex Drop Event beginning January 16, offering a chance to secure “B Series Vol. 3” promo packs through intense solo battles.
