Crossplay in EA SPORTS FC 24: How it works, platforms and limitations

EA SPORTS FC 24 continues the line of the FIFA franchise with one of the mechanics that unites the community: crossplay. Despite the name change, there are features that remain and in this release, we will once again be able to play with your friends no matter what platform they are on. We will tell you in detail how it works and what limitations you will find.

How does crossplay work in EA SPORTS FC 24 and what are the limitations?

When you log into EA SPORTS FC 24 for the first time, crossplay is automatically enabled. This will connect you with players of the same console generation (as specified by Electronic Arts). That’s where the main limitation of this feature comes in. PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC will play against each other with the next-gen version, while PS4 and Xbox One will remain paired to play against each other. Nintendo Switch, on the other hand, is excluded as it is a standalone edition.

What crossplay modes will be available in EA SPORTS FC 24?

EA SPORTS FC 24 maintains the game modes that have been crossplay enabled in the past, such as Ultimate Team (Rivals, Online Friendlies, Play Against a Friend, Draft Online and Champions), Online Friendlies and Online Seasons. In this release, the list has been expanded to include Clubs, Volta Football, Ultimate Team Co-op and Co-op Season.

How do I invite a friend from another platform to EA SPORTS FC 24?

There is a menu in the bottom right corner that you can open by right-clicking. You will see a screen called EA Connect where you can see your connected friends, invitations, friend requests, player search, and players you have recently played with. You will be able to invite any users that you have added to the consoles that you link your EA account to. If you don’t have a user, just go to the menu, enter the nickname of the other user as they are called on their platform and that’s it. Now you can invite them from there whenever you want.
