Dan Da Dan Season 2 already has a release date and will follow in the footsteps of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba
One of the outstanding anime of 2024 will return after a big cliffhanger.
Since last December, we already knew that Dan Da Dan would be coming back with a new season in July. This anime, which combines action, romance, fights, ghosts, and aliens, has attracted attention not only for its story but also for its catchy opening song. But before it returns to the small screen, the series will have a special theatrical premiere.
The official website for the series has confirmed that Dan Da Dan will hit the big screen in Japan on July 3 with a movie titled DAN DA DAN: EVIL EYE. In America, distributor GKids will bring this experience to theaters starting July 6. This release will include the beginning of the Cursed House arc from the previous season, along with the first three episodes of the new season. In Asia, the special screening will take place on May 30, while in Europe it will arrive on June 7, with distribution planned in more than 50 countries and territories, although not all locations have been finalized yet.
Anime continues to conquer the big screen
The theatrical release of Dan Da Dan follows the trend of other popular anime that have taken their seasons to the movies. Kimetsu no Yaiba was one of the most successful cases, presenting its arcs in movie format, with plans to adapt its denouement as a movie series. Attack on Titan also opted for this strategy, adapting its final season in a format that made it to the big screen.
Science SARU’s decision to release a special screening before the second season demonstrates the global impact of Dan Da Dan and its growing popularity outside of Japan.
For now, Dan Da Dan Season 2 will be available on Crunchyroll sometime in June.
