‘Daredevil: Born Again’ set photo gives us a glimpse of Kingpin’s role in the series
It seems like Kingpin is set to become the mayor of New York in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’, with a photo from the series’ set seemingly confirmed.
Even if it was in danger for a moment, we can finally talk about the reboot of the series starring the Man Without Fear, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’, based on the famous comics by Frank Miller. As one might imagine, Wilson Fisk, better known as Kingpin, will play an essential role in the story, and stands as the big villain of Marvel’s “street level” universe, with series like ‘Echo’ and ‘Hawkeye’. In fact, it has been persistently rumored that we will see Fisk elected mayor of New York, something that a new photo from the set seems to practically confirm.

With this image we can assure that although it is not 100% confirmed that we will see Kingpin as the top leader of the Big Apple, at least we will see him moving towards it. “Wilson Fisk Campaign Gains Momentum Heading Into Polls” says The New York Criterion, the fictional newspaper that we see in the image in question.
Now in charge of a veteran trio from Marvel, and with the three previous seasons released on Netflix confirmed as canon by Marvel Studios, the latest news invites fans to be optimistic. We have the return of Foggy Nelson and Karen Page, in addition to Bullseye and Punisher, but it remains to be seen if we will see Elodie Yung again as Elektra.
Meanwhile, with filming having practically just begun, we should expect the series to premiere in 2025, forming part of Phase 5 of the MCU, which will continue this year with ‘Deadpool 3′, ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries’ and the already released ‘Echo’. Other productions that are part of this fifth phase are ‘Captain America: New World Order’, ‘Thunderbolts’ and ‘Blade’.
