Dave Bautista looks unrecognizable after dramatic physical changes for his next movie
Ex-WWE and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star Dave Bautista is looking extremely different as he shows off his new slender appearance at ‘The Last Showgirl’s premiere.
Dave Bautista, the famous actor and former wrestler of the WWE, has reappeared in public during the Toronto International Film Festival on the occasion of the premiere of his new film, ‘The Last Showgirl’, next to Pamela Anderson and Jamie Lee Curtis. And he has done so with a surprising physical change, the result of losing around 50lbs of muscle, as confirmed by the actor himself, now sporting a much slimmer look than we are used to after playing much more physical roles, such as that of Drax in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ for Marvel Studios.
Dave Bautista and his radical physical change
Although, in 2023 Bautista appeared in the movie ‘Knock at the Cabin’ by M. Night Shyamalan, a role for which he gained weight beyond 315lbs-after finishing filming the actor decided to return to his usual weight as an actor to prepare for his next roles. And apparently, jiu-jitsu was key to healthily losing weight, losing up to 50lbs of muscle for the occasion, just as revealed by the actor.
“I was trimming down, and I’ve sacrificed a lot of muscle. But I’m okay with it, because I just feel more comfortable”, assured the 55-year-old actor, who is about to release two films with ‘The Last Showgirl’ and ‘The Killer’s Game’, more dramatic roles for which the actor has been preparing for the last year and a half.
Bautista and his past at Marvel Studios as Drax
Furthermore, Bautista did not want to miss the opportunity to talk about his past in Marvel Studios as Drax, a character to whom he could not say goodbye as he would have liked: “I never had closure in that part of my career either. Although it has already happened and is in the past, I could never say goodbye to everyone. I never got to go to the premiere and have fun with everyone and cry and say goodbye. I never had that.”
