DC’s Absolute Universe is about to begin, after the events of Absolute Power, and it will begin with a special issue titled ‘All In’ that will arrive in bookstores and comic shops in the United States on October 2nd of this year. While we wait for the release of this new line, we continue to learn details about the three collections that will make up this alternate universe, which will be the equivalent of Marvel’s Ultimate.

New Details on DC’s Absolute Universe

Artists like Jim Lee or Wes Craig have released a handful of alternative covers of the three series ‘Absolute Batman’, ‘Absolute Superman’ and ‘Absolute Wonder Woman’, the DC Trinity. These represent the toughest and most modernized versions of the brand’s three star characters. “We have been working on this behind the scenes for about two years,” says DC writer Scott Snyder. The idea is to create the biggest jumping-off point for you guys in many, many, many years.

Snyder himself will be in charge of the ‘Absolute Batman’ collection, which will show us an alternative version of the character that will attract a lot of attention, as it will be embodied by a Bruce Wayne who is not a billionaire. But this is not the only change that will surprise fans, and the design of the logo, very square and not very stylized, is already giving a lot to talk about.

On the other hand, Jason Aaron and Rafa Sandoval will take on the designs for “Absolute Superman,” in a universe where the Man of Steel has no family or home. This collection wonders if he will have the same drive for justice and goodness without family or emotional ties.

Meanwhile, “Absolute Wonder Woman” reveals a homeless Diana who knows no paradise on the island of Themyscira and has been trained the hard way. This universe, where the Amazons are not a tight-knit sisterhood, is brought to life by Eisner-winning artists Kelly Thompson and Hayden Sherman.
