‘Deadpool and Wolverine’: Every cameo and reference to the Marvel multiverse in the movie

Is Deadpool and Wolverine the ultimate cameo film? Do they jump into the sacred timeline? Is Taylor Swift in the movie?! Here are the answers.

Deadpool y Lobezno

The moment most anticipated by Marvel fans and, specifically, Deadpool fans, has arrived. ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ is finally in theaters, and as more and more people rush to get a look at the highly awaited threequel, spoilers are inevvitably spilling into the internet. So what better moment to talk about the many cameos and surprises of the film!

In addition to the post-credit scenes that we’ve already covered, ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ did not hold back when it came to bringing back actors and characters from a cavalcade of movies, both from the current MCU and from the now extinct 20th Century Fox line of films. But saying anything else would be huge spoilers if you haven’t yet enjoyed the movie.

Spoilers for ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ below, so keep reading at your own risk.

Who is Ladypool? Is it true that the X-Men are returning?

Before talking about cameos, it is worth remembering that the imagination of users has stepped on the accelerator too much and has raised some rumors that ended up not being true. As such, we can confirm that, to the pain of many people, Taylor Swift doesn’t appear in Deadpool aside from the soundtrack.

On the other hand, we finally know who’s playing Ladypool, although her appearance may disappoint many. At no point does she remove her mask, but her voice is recognizable. In case there are any doubts, the credits themselves confirm it: it’s Blake Lively, famous for Gossip Girl.

Ladypool alongside the entire Deadpool Corps from alternate realities, who have appeared in the comics, such as Kidpool. But the ones our Wade Wilson will have the most contact with will be Dogpool (also called Mary Puppins) and Nicepool, an alternative version of the character, also played by Ryan Reynolds, who is the Merc with a Mouth in a kinder version with perfect skin. And of course, Peter (Rob Delaney) is back with a vengeance, and as a crucial figure in the plot, as he is objectively the best Marvel character to ever exist.

Wolverine also has many alternate versions of himself, starting with a comic-accurate, extremely short version of himself. In a montage near the start of the movie you can also see Patch, the “Wolverine vs Hulk” version with his orange outfit (alongside a quick appearance of Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk), an extremely edgy and wild-haired 90′s version of Wolverine from when he goes by “Weapon X”, a crucified, agonizing Wolverine that references the infamous cover of Uncanny X-Men #251, and even Old Man Logan (with a shotgun). But the best of them all is the fact that we also get to see Henry Cavill as “The Cavillrine”, finally fulfilling the fans’ dreams of seeing the British actor in the role of the most dangerous mutant of them all. And he even gives us his little arm-reload from Mission Impossible when he “SNIKT”'s his claws out!

Forgotten old glories

Likewise, there are cameos that have more screen time. ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ meet old Marvel heroes that reclaim their presence within the Marvel universe: Elektra, performed by Jennifer Garner as if no time had passed from her Daredevil appearance; Blade, with a Wesley Snipes who reminds us that the only Blade that has ever existed and will exist (winks at the camera), and Gambit, finally played by Channing Tatum, who has been given justice after seeing his film canceled. And, of course, it cannot be forgotten that X-23 (Daphne Keen), who forged a very special bond with Logan, is back in action.

Other mutants return to the film as well, as Cassandra Nova’s forces/slaves: Azazel, Sabretooth, Toad, Colossus, Pyro... Alioth’s devouring presence looms over them and will be a problem for Deadpool and Wolverine,. Chris Evans will also appear as the Captain America, along with Thor (Chris Hemsworth), on TVA archive tapes. In this organization, we will see a familiar face: B-15, who will serve good again.

But the biggest surprise of this lot? Evans joins Jackman and Reynolds reprising his iconic Marvel character that he had already retired years ago. With a superhero landing and all, he welcomes the duo to The Void and unleashes all of his power as a lost and forgotten… Johnny Storm, from Fox’s ‘Fantastic Four’ movies.

And, finally, it is worth mentioning that Deadpool, after an unsuccessful interview with Happy Hogan to enter The Avengers (revealed to have happened in the Sacred Timeline), will have a reunion with those who have been part of his life to celebrate his birthday: Vanessa, Dopinder, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Buck, Colossus, Yukio, Blind Al, Peter, and more.

Perhaps, the presence of certain cameos will serve to recover certain sagas and forgotten superheroes, but who has control of the sacred timeline of new works right now is Disney/Marvel.
