Deadpool and Wolverine’, the newest Marvel Studios movie, is already breaking several records, among them being the highest-grossing R-rated film in history in its first weekend, with global revenue after a week since its release that already exceeds 600 million dollars. But there is a record that was held by Hugh Jackman which he will no longer be able to boast of and which has even been recognized by the Guinness World Records: a famous actor who, thanks to his cameo in the new MCU is now the actor who has played a character in the Marvel Universe in live-action for the longest time.

Beware of spoilers for ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ starting in the following paragraph.

The resounding return of a mythical Marvel antihero

As published on the official Guinness World Records website, Wesley Snipes at 61 years old is now the actor who has been playing a live-action character as part of Marvel movies in cinema for the longest time. After his return as Blade on the big screen in 2024, the actor immediately accumulated 25 years and 340 days since his debut as Marvel Comics’ vampire slayer antihero, surpassing Hugh Jackman’s previous record as Wolverine.

Wesley Snipes debuted as Blade on the big screen in 1998, while Hugh Jackman did the same as Wolverine in the year 2000; With the return of Snipes to his iconic role, he has managed to beat Jackman’s record. In addition, he has also achieved another record, since he is also the actor with the longest interval between appearances on the big screen, thus surpassing Alfred Molina who returned in 2021 as Doctor Octopus in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ after his debut in 2004 as part of the cast of ‘Spider-Man 2′ by Sam Raimi.

Although Snipes is not the only one to extend his record at Marvel, since Chris Evans, thanks to his return as the Human Torch in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, underpins his record as the actor with the most appearances in Marvel movies with a total of eleven performances adding his roles as Captain America in the MCU and those of Johnny Storm from Fox.
