Death Stranding 2: On The Beach reveals its full name and release date with a new insane trailer

Hideo Kojima is back with an almost 10-minute trailer for Death Stranding 2, a direct sequel to the original that raises the weirdness to 11.

Update:

The moment has finally come: Hideo Kojima has revealed a new full trailer for Death Stranding 2, which not only shows off its full title, but also the first hints of real details for the story. We think. Maybe. Take a look for yourself and see what you can figure out through it:

Unveiled through the latest State of Play, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach will launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 in 2025. Norman Reedus and Lea Seydoux return to reprise their roles from the first game, as will Troy Baker (which already is a huge revelation with big implications for the plot). Other than that, details are few and far between, yet abundant.

We know that part of the game will take place in post-apocalyptic Mexico. Bridges is gone, now replaced by Drawbridge, an organization that flies around on a flying ship called The Magellan that also seemingly functions as your base between missions. There is desert, rocky terrain, a large city far in the distance, and Higgs is back as the villain. He’s also wielding a railgun/electric guitar, which he uses to duel a giant baby samurai robot. And there’s also a talking puppet with a thick accent.

Will we get some clear answers before the game releases next year? Most probably not, in typical Kojima fashion, and that only makes us even more exciting for what Death Stranding 2: On The Beach has to offer.
