Death Stranding 2's final title leaked, which will show new footage "imminent"
Billbil-kun is back with a new leak that hints at the final name of Hideo Kojima’s next work.
Everything seems to indicate that Hideo Kojima wants to start the year off on the right foot. Billbil-kun, a renowned insider with a huge track record of leaks, has revealed what will be the final name of the game previously known as “DS2″. According to the Frenchman, the game will be called Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.
According to the leaker, the announcement will be “imminent.” Although they have not been able to determine when this announcement will be made, they believe it will happen “in the next 15 days. Two weeks is the timeframe they cite to see it on the move again.
In recent weeks, Kojima has been playing with the iconography of cinema. In August 2023, he published an enigmatic photograph of the film “On The Beach,” a 1959 classic directed by Stanley Kramer and starring Ava Gardner, Gregory Peck, and Anthony Perkins, among others. The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Nevil Shute, which explores the state of the planet after a hypothetical nuclear holocaust in World War III.
Death Stranding 2, a year in the shadows
The truth is that absolutely nothing has been known since its revelation on December 9, 2022. It was under the spotlight of The Game Awards when we saw some of the icons of the first installment reinterpreted in different ways. BB’s capsule featured an octopus, while Fragile held a mutant baby of unknown origin. Also making an appearance was Sam Porter Bridges, now looking more haggard after his violent contact with the beach and the world beyond it.
If you haven’t played the original, you should know that it’s available on PC, PS5 and PS4; the first two offer the Director’s Cut version, which adds new gameplay features to the original game’s content. It is also included in the PlayStation Plus catalog in its Extra and Premium modes.
