‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Infinity Castle’ is leaving theaters worldwide, and its streaming release is approaching

After nearly 300 days, ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Infinity Castle’ is leaving theaters worldwide, and its arrival on streaming platforms is approaching.

Update:

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle hit theaters in Japan on July 18, 2025, and following its September release in theaters worldwide, it went on to become the biggest hit in anime history and one of the standout films of 2025. The film had not yet been available on streaming platforms because it was still playing in theaters, but that run has now come to an end.

On April 9, the theatrical run of ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle’ officially came to an end in Japanese theaters. It had been in theaters for 266 days—nearly a full year in its home country—where the film remained one of the industry’s top titles throughout that entire period.

A Historic Success for the Anime Industry

The first installment of the trilogy adapting the ‘Infinite Fortress’ arc from Koyoharu Gotouge’s work has surpassed $250 million at the box office in Japan and has reached nearly $739 million worldwide. Since its premiere, the film has periodically returned to theaters in various regions thanks to re-releases in special formats, with improved technology and new screening options, although this successful theatrical run has now definitively come to an end.

With the home video release already in the works in Japan, it seems likely that the film will soon be available on the international market via streaming platforms as well. At the same time, the end of its theatrical run paves the way for the launch of the promotional campaign for the next ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ film, which, however, is not scheduled to premiere until after 2026.
