Denzel Washington is joining Marvel for ‘Black Panther 3’
Even though it hasn’t even been teased by Marvel Studios, Denzel Washington has just revealed that he’ll be joining Black Panther 3 once it releases.
Normally actors tend to be quite secretive about their future projects, even more so when these aren’t even announced yet. But it seems like Denzel Washington isn’t too bothered about that, as he announced that he would have a role in the next installment of ‘Black Panther’, which will be the third, and which is not even officially confirmed by Marvel Studios.
This third ‘Black Panther’ film doesn’t yet appear on the MCU calendar yet, which goes up all the way to 2027 with ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, although there are also others with a date yet to be determined, such as ‘Blade’ and ‘Armor Wars’. This would mean that ‘Black Panther 3′ won’t be released at least in the next three years.
Washington reveals he will be in ‘Black Panther 3′, yet to be announced
“For me, it’s all about the director, especially at this point in my career,” said the veteran actor. “I’m only interested in working with the best. I don’t know how many movies I have left to make, probably not many. I want to do things I’ve never done before. Ryan Coogler has written a part for me in the upcoming ‘Back Panther’”.
Obviously, it is too early to know who would fulfill the role of Black Panther, with that honor having fallen to the sadly deceased Chadwick Boseman (T’challa) in the first film, and in Laetitia Wright (Shuri) in ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’. “He was a kind soul and a brilliant artist, who will remain with us in eternity through his iconic performances during his short but illustrious career. May God bless Chadwick Boseman,” Washington said, remembering the late actor.
Washington’s filmography accumulates nothing but successes: ‘The Equalizer’ trilogy, ‘Malcolm X’, ‘Coach Carter’, ‘Philadelphia’, ‘Training Day’ -for which he got the Oscar for Best Actor- and ‘Gladiator 2′ are just some of his best movies.
