Does Diablo 4 have crossplay and split-screen local co-op?

We take a look at Diablo IV’s multiplayer options. Will there be local multiplayer? Can I play with friends on other platforms?

Diablo IV is already available for those who pre-ordered the Deluxe and Ultimate editions, and maybe by the time you read this, we’ll all be well on our way to Sanctuary. One of the big questions surrounding the game has to do with its multiplayer options, which we will discuss in more detail below.

Will Diablo IV have cross-play?

One of the most important questions is about cross-play, or the possibility of enjoying the cooperative and competitive modes with players who play on other platforms. Fortunately, the answer is positive, and is that we will be able to enjoy its multiplayer regardless of the platform on which we play, since there is cross-play between all those on which the game is available, namely: PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC. However, we will be free to disable it if we want.

Similarly, Diablo IV also has cross save, so as long as we link our PSN or Xbox Live account to the same Blizzard account, we can enjoy our game and characters on any platform.

Is there local co-op?

Well, yes, and this way we can enjoy one of the most fun parts of the game, the cooperative play, from the same couch, something that is slowly getting lost. The process is very simple, after connecting the second controller, our guest player will have to activate his Blizzard account linked to the corresponding platform. As we can see, it will not be possible to play if this second player does not have this Blizzard account active, so this is an aspect to take into account before starting our gaming session.

Diablo IV arrives this afternoon, June 5th on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC, although as we said, players who reserved the most expensive editions are already playing it thanks to Early Access.
