Donkey Kong Country revealed, coming to Super Nintendo World Japan in 2024
D.K. Donkey Kong, DK, Donkey Kong is here!
Nintendo has shown the first official glimpse of Donkey Kong Country through a Nintendo Direct, the first expansion that will have Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan opening sooner than you think.
Welcome to Donkey Kong Country
In a 10-minute video, Shigeru Miyamoto introduced this new area, which will have its entrance next to the 1Up Factory in Super Mario Land. The new area is connected to the classic pipes, turning it into a jungle. As seen in the presentation video, from the moment you enter, you will hear the classic rhythm of the game, with places and secrets to find and a series of activities, from playing the congas with up to two other visitors to free Rambi.
On the other hand, the Power-Up Bands that will be released with a version of Donkey Kong will allow us to collect the letters that spell out KONG, just like in the games.

When will Donkey Kong Country open at Universal Studios Japan?
This new area, which has been in the works for several years, was originally scheduled to open in the spring of 2024. However, the date has been pushed back to later this year. Fulfilling that promise, it has been announced that it will open to the Japanese public one month from now, on December 11, 2024. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long on this side of the world, as this new Super Nintendo World area will be part of the Universal Epic Universe in Orlando, Florida, starting next year.
