Don’t expect Marvel’s Wolverine at tomorrow’s State of Play, Insomniac Games suggests

Tomorrow we will have State of Play, which is set to be one of the longest yet, lasting just over an hour. And although we already have some confirmed titles, such as Saros from Housemarque and Marathon from Bungie, there are others that seemed very obvious, such as the next installment from Insomniac Games, Marvel’s Wolverine. However, the studio has poured cold water on the hopes of fans who were expecting to see the iconic adamantium claws at the presentation.

The clarification came directly from the developer on social media. When a fan asked when they could expect more details on the clawed mutant’s solo title, Insomniac’s official account simply replied: “Spring 2026.” With the State of Play scheduled for February 12, this response effectively rules out a major gameplay reveal or deep dive during this week’s broadcast.

The strategy appears to be one of focus. By delaying the next reveal until Spring, Insomniac ensures that Marvel’s Wolverine will have its own dedicated moment in the spotlight, likely through a deep-dive presentation later this year. This approach benefits players by ensuring that when the gameplay is finally shown, it represents the Authentic and Competitive gameplay standards the studio is known for, without being overshadowed by the dozens of other titles appearing in tomorrow’s 60-minute show.
