Dragon Age: The Veilguard gets a release date in a new trailer

BioWare has just released the official “Release Date Trailer” for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which finally lets fans know when they’ll be able to get the game.

Dragon Age The Veilguard

After a little bit of a leak a few hours before the official announcement, BioWare has now released a new trailer for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, their upcoming return to the Dragon Age franchise that already has fans talking. And of course, this new trailer brings with it the title’s release date: October 31, 2024.

The reason for the name change of Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Previously known as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, BioWare has explained why it decided to change the title. Gary MacKay, general manager of the studio, did so in a post on the official blog. According to the manager, it is because The Veilguard matched more with the current identity of the video game, which does not mean that Solas does not have a prominent role, quite the opposite.

The truth is that production has changed over all these years. Like other products of the time, it had to go through that phase in which all video games had to fit within the mold of games as a service. On the contrary, The current version dispenses with all those elements and focuses on offering a single-player experience.

Although maintains some RPG structures, combat focuses attention on the action. The players will control the protagonist, while the allies will mostly use their own routines, although it will also be possible to order them to perform one action or another.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be released on October 31, 2024, for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
