A Toei Animation executive has revealed both the premiere date and the total number of episodes for ‘Dragon Ball Daima’, the new anime series based on ‘Dragon Ball’ with rejuvenated protagonists. This was assured by Daniel Castaneda of Toei Animation Latin America, who revealed that ‘Dragon Ball Daima’ will see the light of day in October 2024 with a total of 20 episodes, offering a more concrete premiere window beyond the previous official announcement of fall 2024. This was reported by media outlets such as Screen Rant through Castaneda’s interview with PRODU.

How many episodes will Dragon Ball Daima have?

Well, it seems that Toei Animation will premiere ‘Dragon Ball Daima’ in October 2024 - just one year from now - with a total of 20 episodes, but there is more. Toei’s executive for Latin America has commented that the anime company intends to break with the tradition of releasing a series months after its premiere in Japan, assuring that ‘Dragon Ball Daima’ will have a world premiere in the same month of October 2024 in several languages, including English and Spanish, among others.

Castaneda recognizes that “Dragon Ball” is very popular in Latin America, the United States and Europe, so this is a great opportunity for all fans to enjoy their favorite series with localized dubbing from day one.

On the other hand, Castaneda comments that Toei is currently working on the production of ‘Dragon Ball Daima’ and that they expect the series to be finished in May 2024. All this so that the production company has the necessary time to polish their work until the premiere, and so that the fans get the best possible version of this new ‘Dragon Ball’ anime series, to which we must add the involvement and supervision of Akira Toriyama.

“Normally, all of our productions are released in Japan first, and about six months later we release them internationally because we wait until we have 26 episodes to start dubbing; and now we can release them in other territories. This is the first time we will release a series worldwide at the same time. Production is already underway and I estimate that we will be done around May next year,” said Castaneda.

If these statements come true, ‘Dragon Ball Daima’ will premiere worldwide in October 2024 with a total of 20 episodes, although the length of each episode has not been revealed. Dragon Ball Daima” tells us a mysterious story in which Goku and company have been rejuvenated to the point that they look like children. What dark plans is this strange desire responding to? What new villain has committed such an ‘atrocity’?
