Dragon Ball gets its own theme park with a 230-foot Shenron

Shueisha collaborates with a Saudi investment group to create a pilgrimage site for fans

Dragon Ball fans can start saving their money now. In cooperation with the Shueisha team and with the financial support of the Quiddiya Investment Company, the first official Dragon Ball theme park has been announced and is expected to be built in Saudi Arabia by 2027.

“The Saudi Arabia-based Qiddiya Investment Company has announced that it will be constructing the World’s only ever Dragon Ball theme park as part of its ‘Qiddiya’ giga project!,” the official Dragon Ball website announced.

The theme park will cover around 5,380,000 square feet. It will be divided into seven different areas that recreate the world of Dragon Ball, including iconic locations such as the Beerus’ Planet, the Kame House and the Corporation Capsule.

Fans from around the world will be able to join Goku and his friends on an adventure that will immerse them in the Dragon Ball universe, from the beginning of the anime to Dragon Ball Super. The park will feature five state-of-the-art attractions among a total of 30 installations. In addition, it will feature a 230-foot-tall replica of Shenron, which will be located in the park as part of a roller coaster. To make the experience complete from the moment you arrive, the theme park will also house Dragon Ball themed hotels.

A blow to the community

The news of the theme park comes at a sad time for Dragon Ball fans. On March 1st, the creator of the series, Akira Toriyama, died at the age of 68, triggering a wave of reactions and tributes that continue to pour in, highlighting the enormous legacy left by the creator of Dragon Ball, Dr. Slump, or the characters and monsters of Dragon Quest or Chrono Trigger.
