Chapter 103 of ‘Dragon Ball Super’ will be the last release of the series for a while. Before Toriyama’s death, the publisher had already confirmed the break after completing the narrative arc that concludes in the mega-fight between Goku and his son, Gohan. Toyotaro’s break will last only a month, at least according to what Shueisha themselves shared. After finishing reading the chapter we can see that the next one (#104) will be published on May 20, 2024. It is clear that the artist is still going strong despite the sudden loss of his teacher.

Toriyama’s passing shook the foundations of the ‘Dragon Ball’ community. Millions of messages were posted on social media reacting to the sad news. Even Emmanuel Macron himself, president of the French Republic, did not hesitate to share his state of mind upon learning of the death. Important faces of the manga industry, such as Eiichiro Oda (‘One Piece’) and Masashi Kishimoto (‘Naruto’) expressed their sadness shortly after the news came to light.
