Dragon Ball

‘Dragon Ball’: The two characters whose power will never be surpassed by Goku and Vegeta, according to Akira Toriyama

The creator of the mythical manga series revealed which two fighters are beyond the reach of the famous Saiyans.

The escalation of power in Dragon Ball seems to know no limits, especially for Goku and Vegeta in their eagerness to outdo themselves again and again, but there seems to be one level of power that no warrior will ever be able to surpass: that of Beerus and Whis from Dragon Ball Super. This was confirmed by Akira Toriyama in an interview at the time of the release of the first volume of the current manga, illustrated by Toyotaro and written by Toriyama himself: “I have no plans for Goku and Vegeta to surpass Beerus and Whis,” the late mangaka admitted at the time.

The insurmountable barrier of Goku and Vegeta

According to the portal Kanzenshuu (via Screen Rant), it seems that Goku and Vegeta will not be able to surpass the power of the gods themselves. So much so that Toyotaro himself mentioned an “insurmountable wall” for Goku in this interview during the beginnings of ‘Dragon Ball Super’ in manga format, to which he asked Toriyama about the possibility that the famous Saiyans could eventually overcome that level of power: “Well… First off, right now I don’t have any plans for Goku and Vegeta to surpass Beerus and Whis.,” Toriyama assured.

Now, after the death of the creator of ‘Dragon Ball’ - and until now the scriptwriter of ‘Dragon Ball Super’ - the doors could be opened for a possible new escalation of power of Goku and Vegeta beyond the limits of the gods, although it does not seem that it will never happen if we consider the level of power of Goku during the true end of ‘Dragon Ball’, with the encounter between Goku and Uub, remember, chronologically after the future conclusion of ‘Dragon Ball Super’.

Until the resumption of the regular publication of ‘Dragon Ball Super’ in manga format - and the anime itself, which was paralyzed for several arcs before that - the next in the franchise will be ‘Dragon Ball Daima,’ a new anime that will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the saga this fall.
