Dragon’s Dogma 2 might be getting ready to release a demo soon
Arisen, beware: Capcom seems to be preparing for the release of a Dragon’s Dogma 2 demo, all thanks to Steam back-end updates.
It’s been a long wait for fans of Dragon’s Dogma, but a sequel to the epic fantasy adventure is finally coming in only a few weeks. And while news have been scarce since its official announcement, it seems like we’re getting a demo very soon.
According to a post on the franchise’s subreddit, Dragon’s Dogma 2′s back-end on Steam was recently updated with an as-of-yet unknown app tagged as “free on demand”, a title that is commonly seen on free-to-play software on the platform, be it f2p titles, free games, or demos for specific titles.
While this in itself is not confirmation that the game will get a demo before its release, it is still a piece of software that is marked to be released for free. But the timing of its addition to the platform’s systems seem to imply that it should be some sort of preview for the game. It wouldn’t be the first time an RPG gets a character creator, but Dragon’s Dogma 2 has already shown playable demos before, and Capcom is no stranger to the concept: Almost every Resident Evil title since RE7 has had a playable demo before their release.
Dragon’s Dogma II is fantasy in its purest form
Capcom’s massive action RPG is almost here, and thankfully, MeriStation has already had a chance to try it. You can read our thoughts through this link, but suffice it to say that we played for an entire hour, getting to try out 3 different character builds and various point during the game.
The new game comes with an updated class system that has many upgrades and new features when compared to the original, so don’t forget to read up on that front as well..
Dragon’s Dogma 2 will release on March 22, 2024. It’ll be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
