The Game Awards 2024
Dying Light: The Beast brings back the dead to The Game Awards with its new trailer
A new standalone Dying Light game will be released for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS5, and PC.
It was conceived as an expansion of Dying Light 2: Stay Human, but in the end, it has become a standalone title. Dying Light: The Beast was announced at Gamescom 2024 and brings back Kyle Crane, the protagonist of the original game. This was one of the productions that had already confirmed its presence at The Game Awards gala, where it has shined with a new trailer. It was unknown when it would be released, but Techland has revealed that the game will be available starting next year in 2025.
Like the previous installments, Dying Light: The Beast is set in a post-apocalyptic planet Earth. The infection has spread and the zombies are rampant, so the survivors have to do everything possible to survive in a completely hostile environment. When disaster occurs, moral barriers dissolve and power structures change, so that there are hostile factions that do not hesitate to murder innocent people.
A new zombie adventure
After 13 years of experiments and escapes, Kyle will begin to pursue his captors. That’s when you discover how much is at stake.: “The region is not as populated as before, but there are still people, diverse factions and many horrors to discover. Some will ask you for help and others will want to kill you, as well as a mysterious creature that has turned the forest into its private hunting ground,” says the official synopsis. The video game will continue to take place in an open environment, which changes depending on the time of day: at night creatures roam and dangers lurk. The day is over for humans, but are they less threatening than monsters or are they the real monsters?
Dying Light: The Beast will be sold as its own game, but those who have the Definitive Edition of Dying Light 2: Stay Human will be able to access it for free on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
