EA Sports

EA Sports FC 25 will feature a mechanic that FIFA banned when they worked together

In the new version, we will be able to do the “Carvajalinha”, which is everything (but absolutely everything) necessary to stop whoever has the ball.

EA Sports FC 25

Although we already told you about it in our first impressions of the game, where we said that it will be “the biggest tactical revolution in more than 10 years”, today we want to highlight one of the many new mechanics of EA Sports FC 25. We are talking about the so-called “Tactical Fouls”, or as they could also be baptized since the Euro Cup, “the Carvajalinha”. Because yes, in this year’s edition we will be able to lose all our friends by grabbing, judo keys and whatever it takes to stop the game.

This type of foul was common in titles at the beginning of the century, especially in the legendary PES with Castolo. In FIFA, however, they were removed at the request of the organization of the same name, which wanted to promote “fair play”. Now that Electronic Arts has broken off relations with Infantino, the company has decided to give us this option again and thus give the noses to its rivals, who mock EA Sports FC and promise to go to make better football games.

Called a “professional foul,” EA Sports describes this “strategic option” as follows “to stop a counterattack or stop an opponent’s promising advance. Although it always results in a yellow card, excessive use in a match can result in a red card”. We even know which buttons to press and which will become our new best friends: R1+X or RB+A.

EA Sports FC 25, the future of the franchise

Our colleague Vladimir Arteaga traveled to the EA Sports offices in Vancouver, Canada to get a first look at the new installment of the franchise. Not everything is missing in the “beautiful game”, as new features and game modes are integrated into the experience that Electronic Arts has us accustomed to year after year.
