EA Sports WRC reveals all about its game modes and features

Codemasters presented us with new details about the next rally title under the EA Sports label, where we were able to learn more about its game modes.

EA Sports WRC aims to be the most complete rally experience thanks to Codemasters. As part of its pre-release presentations, the development team revealed all about the game modes and different experiences players will have when this World Rally Championship licensed title launches next month.

Multiple game modes

It wouldn’t be a sports title without a career mode. As usual, players will be able to create their team to compete in the WRC. Here, and unlike other titles, the player will be able to choose his starting point in his career, being able to climb from the Junior WRC or directly enter the highest level of competition.

The mode will allow us to create not only our driver, but also our team of mechanics, defining their identity. The mode will allow a multi-season career mode where, in addition to racing and making key decisions to reach the finish line, we will have to work with a benefactor who we will have to keep happy with the results to keep the budget flowing.

Among the other game modes, we will also have quick game modes, both solo and multiplayer, where you can choose multiple events and compete either against the AI or against 32 players. There will also be the classic Time Trial mode, where we will compete against the best games in a leaderboard. Finally, there will be the Championship mode, where we will focus on winning the Driver’s Championship.

Take customization to the next level

One of the main modes will allow to create their own vehicle, choosing from a wide variety of parts that go hand in hand with the rules of the competition. Players will be able to choose the shape of the chassis, the mechanical parts, and even the balance of the vehicle. Not everything will be internal, as there will be a large amount of customization, both on the exterior and interior, even reaching a livery creator to give it the highest level of personalization. Once their creation is complete, players will be able to take a test drive to feel how it handles and return to make any necessary adjustments.

A look back at the history of the WRC

Having the license of the World Rally Championship opens the way for the game to have a mode where you can relive the most iconic and memorable moments of the 50-year history of the championship. The format in which it arrives is special, with a new moment every 24 hours, presenting this challenge along with a video of the WRC. At the end, players will be rewarded with a medal for completing the objectives.

Extra features

EA Sports WRC will also have other in-game features to help you learn and compete. Rally Schools will allow you to learn more about the discipline with acclimatization exercises and basic tests. The Rally Pass will be available during the first 5 seasons of the game and will allow us to gain experience to unlock more cosmetic aspects to customize our driver. On the other hand, Clubs will allow us to compete asynchronously against other players in different time zones.

And of course, the game would not be complete without a photo mode that will allow you to enjoy the representation of the world created by Codemasters. Finally, for those VR fans, you can expect this mode for 2024, available only for PC under OpenVR.

EA Sports WRC will be available on November 3rd for Xbox X Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC, and will be released in a standard version only. To learn more about how they plan to bring authenticity to the game, click here.
