Eiichiro Oda confirms his participation in the live-action adaptation of One Piece, and it all makes sense
The world’s most authoritative voice on One Piece and its importance in the Netflix series.
The live-action version of ‘One Piece’ on Netflix has proven that it is possible to make adaptations that live up to the original work. The world of manga and anime had not generally had much luck with this type of production, with very few notable cases, and a series like One Piece did not seem like the best example to break this curse. Fortunately, it succeeded, and it is no coincidence: Eiichiro Oda’s commitment has been unwavering.
The popular manga artist has confirmed that he personally chose the cast for the live-action adaptation, including the artists who will be part of the second season: “They were absolutely the perfect choice!!!”
An author deeply involved in everything related to his work
Don’t you find that some artists are very similar to the characters they bring to life in live action? Well, Eiichiro Oda does, and that should be enough. The fact that the original artist, the mind that created those characters, gives his approval to all the acting professionals who are part of the live-action adaptation of One Piece is almost a confirmation that a job well done is assured.
From Nico Robin to Nefertari Vivi, Smoker, and Brogy. Everything we saw in the first trailer for the second season of the live-action adaptation of One Piece has made a great impression, and it looks like quality will once again be assured in one of Netflix’s most anticipated releases in 2026.
