Eiichiro Oda, creator of One Piece, pranks and shocks his fans with a surprise appearance
A Japanese prank show gave One Piece fans the surprise of a lifetime, as they suddenly became victims of Eiichiro Oda’s Conqueror’s Haki.
All the mysteries around ‘One Piece’ match perfectly with the enigma that is its own author, the legendary Eiichiro Oda. A mangaka of whom there are very few images of on the Internet, and some of those that usually appear in your searches belong to people who have nothing to do with Oda (like Eiji Aonuma, head of The Legend of Zelda saga), so the opportunity to see him is available to very few, and the impression he leaves behind is indescribable.
The Japanese prank show NOBROCKTV has Eiichiro Oda as one of their followers, and together with him they prepared a prank in which they made people believe that they were going to meet him, but a fake actor impersonates him and they even talk about the end of the series although, of course, nothing is real. The ‘One Piece’ fans who were deceived by the program reacted in an incredible way when they saw the real Oda after the prank, as if he had Haoshoku Haki (Conqueror’s Haki), falling to the ground without believing that they had before their eyes the legend.
‘One Piece’, an unstoppable phenomenon
The work of Eiichiro Oda has been with us for nearly three decades, and in July 1997 the first chapter of the manga was published. The anime did the same in October 1999, celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2024, and the phenomenon has not slowed down at any time, growing constantly and already being a global success.
Netflix’s live-action, a remake prepared by Wit Studio, and a manga and anime immersed in a final saga full of emotion that has everything it needs to be a historic event. A work that is part of our lives, that has made us grow with it, and that continues to cause us the same impact or more than when we began to discover it. The impression that Eiichiro Oda left on NOBROCKTV is the same one that he would make on all of us, a figure as enigmatic as he is essential.
