Eiyuden Chronicle devs confirm the game is getting a sequel, despite its creator’s recent passing

The long-awaited Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is finally getting a release this year, but they’ve already announced they’ll work on a sequel.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is one of the most anticipated games of the year by JRPG fans. A spiritual successor to the Suikoden series, one of the most notable franchises of the genre, it suffered a setback last February with the death of its creator: Yoshitaka Murayama. An indispensable figure when it comes to talking about the history of the JRPG, creator of Suikoden and its successor, working at Rabbit & Bear Studios since its founding in 2020 and achieving enormous success in the Eiyuden Chronicle Kickstarter campaign. Now, in a Reddit AMA a few days before the official launch of the game, members of the development team responded that there are already plans for a sequel and that these had been drawn up before Murayama’s passing.

“We are moving forward with a sequel. It is very sad that Murayama is not with us anymore, but we have discussed many things with him.I hope we will be able to carry on Murayama’s legacy, and I always want to treasure his last work. I hope many people will support this game,”, said the developers when asked about the studio’s future plans.
